I was experimenting with this project. I think the message is clear in both.

  1. I already commented on the class discussion board but at the urging of Professor Andrews I am posting here on your blog as well. I actually love the photomontage displayed here even more. It really stands out against the background color of your blog. I see the teacher's point now in regards to a simple blog design as it really lets the work stand out and does not detract from the real focal point. Again I just love the use of red. It stands out and makes a statement all on its own. I think this is a really creative piece and it shows you have experience with Photoshop. It inspires me to stick with it and learn more.

  2. I posted in the thread but I will also post the same here. Use pixel smoothing for better selections. I also just learned about using gradient masks to blend the images into the composition. Check out planetphotoshop.com, there is some really great photoshop video tutorials there and it is quickly becoming my number one learning resource.

  3. Your image with the ladies face reminded me a lot about when I look at any image or picture. Behind every picture there is a story, every smile, every tear, every joy… lies all stories waiting to be told and reveled. I really liked that image better. I also noticed how you switched the coloring of your text from full red on the top to just a highlighted outline for the bottom words. Is there a reason you did that? I came up with the idea that like the top words filled with red, that is the outside of our life, our “image”, but on the bottom words, it’s only outlined with the outside of our life and our “image” while the white is the mystery of what’s really on the inside..? Just a thought. :)
